Advanced Dental Technology Brenham

Greater Precision & Accuracy with Innovative Solutions

Dental technology has been around in various forms for decades. Over time, it has evolved to serve as a more integral part of the dental office. As times change and more innovative solutions become available, it’s only natural that dentists begin to incorporate these devices into the patient experience. As you will see below, we use many different forms of technology to ensure greater precision and accuracy while also providing a more comfortable approach for our patients. Feel free to read this information and call us if you have any questions.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

As effective as digital X-rays are, they may not be detailed enough to provide the kind of analysis and diagnostics required for more invasive and complex procedures. This is why our dentists at Smile Keepers use the CT/Cone Beam Scanner. Capable of capturing hundreds of high-resolution images in minutes, these come together to form a three-dimensional, virtual model that allows us to see the intricate details of a patient’s mouth and head, including their teeth, gums, jawbone, blood vessels, sinus cavity, nerve pathways, and more.

Digital lmpressions

Dental impressions were once only captured using cold dental putty. While patients got to choose their favorite flavor, they had to sit still for an extended period to allow the mold to set. This time-consuming approach is no longer necessary thanks to our digital impression system. Complete with a handheld, camera-tipped scanner, the device scans the teeth and immediately produces a 3D model that is visible to both our dentists and the patient. It can then be reviewed by our team before being sent to a dental lab, where technicians will use it to create a custom restoration.

Intraoral Camera

At Smile Keepers, our dentists believe in patient education, which is why the incorporation of our intraoral camera is important. Not only does this handheld device make it easier for us to catch small areas of decay when looking inside the mouth, but it also improves awareness by projecting real-time images onto a chairside monitor. This allows patients to see what is happening inside their mouth and better understand why treatment is necessary and how best to take care of their smile each day.
