Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Mehta attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) before going on to earn her dental degree from Boston University (BU). She says that her dental background is a mix of education, real-world experience, and a unique global perspective.
Over the years, she’s had the chance to study and practice in Africa, India, and the United States, which has really shaped how she approaches dentistry. She’s also completed postgraduate training in restorative and esthetic dentistry and loves staying up to date through continuing education. During her time at BU, she was also exposed to some of the most advanced digital dentistry techniques. All of this experience helps her bring a modern, well-rounded, and patient-focused methodology to care.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Originally from Kisumu, Kenya, Dr. Mehta currently lives in Katy with her loving husband and amazing in-laws in a joint family. She does miss her family who currently live in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but feels so lucky that she gets to make a big family trip every year. Back at home, she has so many hobbies to keep her busy! She was a nationally competitive swimmer and still loves being in the water whenever she gets the chance. She’s also a regular at the gym, enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, and lately has become totally obsessed with her newest passion—pickleball!
Fun Fact: Dr. Mehta is fluent in five languages, including English, Gujarati, Hindi, French, and Swahili (and she’s currently working on learning Spanish).
